The Children Young People and Families services directorate is now responsible for education in Birmingham, which embraces all aspects of the education of pupils in maintained children's centres, nurseries and schools and the youth service.


Birmingham City Council has a learning web site: Birmingham Grid for Learning (BGfL). This web reflects the wide span of learning activity in the city, providing information and access to resources for everyone. There are pleanty of learning resources for pupils of all ages, from pre-school to key stage 4.
