Overview

Birmingham is a busy place this summer. There’s a lot going on that could affect your journey, so it makes sense to plan ahead and think about how you travel.

Birmingham’s transformation into a world-class city centre is continuing at pace. The Big City Plan describes how we are creating new homes, jobs and training opportunities, supported by a cleaner greener transport system.

We are also working with the West Midlands Combined Authority and others to improve connectivity across Birmingham, the West Midlands, the UK, and beyond, providing a range of transport options for people and goods.

The summer period will be one of intense activity in the city centre and on our road network. This is to concentrate works at times when traffic is lightest. But even at this quieter time, some disruption to everyday life is unavoidable and inevitable. We are working hard to make sure we keep the city moving, at work, and open for business.
