Your annual pay increase

There is no change to annual pay increases because they fall under the annual pay awards.

  • Everyone who was appointed, promoted, seconded or acting up before 30 September 2025 will move a spinal column point (SCP) and receive the associated salary increase on 1 April 2026, subject to completing 6 months’ satisfactory service.
  • Everyone appointed, promoted, seconded or acting up on or after 1 October 2025, will move to the next spinal colum point (SCP) and receive the associated salary increase after completing 6 months’ satisfactory service, then on 1 April each year.

When you reach the top of your grade

When you reach the top SCP of your grade, you are still eligible to receive annual pay awards as agreed by the National Joint Council, where increases are applied to each SCP.

Annual pay awards are effective from 1 April each year, although they are usually agreed after that date and backdated.
