Promotion, secondment, acting up, and multiple roles
Current arrangements
Current arrangements for acting up, promotion, and secondments will continue to apply after implementation.
If you are currently on secondment to a more senior role
You will move to the equivalent grade of your seconded role and stay on the same SCP, unless this means that you are below the starting SCP of your equivalent grade.
When you return to your substantive role, you will move to the equivalent grade on the reshaped structure for that role, and your SCP and related salary will be determined at that time.
Any progression you would have made if you had remained in your substantive role will be applied.
Moving to the reshaped structure in a temporary role
In these circumstances you will move to the reshaped structure on the equivalent grade to that of your seconded or acting up role.
If you have more than one role (multiple roles), you will move to the equivalent grade to that of each separate role.
Returning to your substantive role
Your substantive role is your main role, the role you will return to following a secondment or acting up.
When you return to your substantive role, you will move to the equivalent grade to that of your substantive role.
This will be applied on the date your secondment or acting up arrangement ends, along with any progression you would have received if you had remained in your substantive role.
