Next steps

In October 2023, we conducted a formal consultation to advertise the Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO) for proposed 30mph speed limit reductions across Birmingham.

Following the consultation, the decision was made to implement a 30mph speed limit for almost all the locations consulted on. We are now consulting on the Speed Limit Orders - the legal documents required to make changes to the status of the road.

Consultation closes on Tuesday 10 December 2024. Subject to the TRO process, we aim to start work to change the speed limits in March 2024.
