Birmingham Youth City Board

The Birmingham City Partnership works closely with the Birmingham Youth City Board.

The Birmingham Youth City Board is made up of young people from Birmingham aged 11 to 18 years old. They collaborate with the council and other partners to ensure that the voices of young people are reflected in policy development and service delivery. This includes contributing to the work of the Birmingham City Partnership Board.

The Birmingham Youth City Board aims to:

  • promote meaningful engagement with young people
  • connect young people with the current work of partners around Birmingham
  • help create a city that provides for and benefits all generations

Members of the Birmingham Youth City Board are involved with:

  • Youth Parliament
  • social activism
  • Young People's Independent Advisory Group
  • Young Women's Independent Advisory Group

The Birmingham Youth City Board is coordinated by Birmingham Youth Service, which includes senior youth workers and youth support workers within the council.

The Birmingham Youth City Board has participated in events such as:

  • Birmingham YouthCon
  • Young Inspectors Residential
  • meetings with the West Midlands Police
