Mobile Household Waste Centres
Mobile Household Waste Centres (MHWCs) are a way to get rid of household general waste and bulky items without visiting a Household Recycling Centre.
How the service works
Our 2 MHWCs visit locations across the city for one morning at a time. The exact start and finish times vary, but all visits take place between 7:30am and 1:00pm. The centres visit 10 different places each week.
Staff are on site at every location to help you.
Who can use the service
This service is for household waste only.
Businesses should use our commercial waste service.
Vans during industrial action
During industrial action we are not accepting waste from vans, whether the van owners are residents or not. There has been an increase in vans bringing large volumes of waste, and we need to prioritise this service for residents.
If you need to dispose of larger amounts of waste using a van, you can book a slot at one of our 5 Household Recycling Centres.
