Scam awareness
Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) and Birmingham City Council do not send text messages to applicants - or those on waiting lists.
Any text message that asks for your bank details or to follow a link is a scam.
These messages are not associated with the Hardship Grant Community Fund, or any other Household Support Fund activity.
You do not need to pay a fee to apply for a Hardship Grant.
If any organisation requests that you pay a fee to apply, do not give them any of your personal details. Visit the BVSC website to immediately to report them.
Zero-tolerance policy
The HSF Hardship Grants Community Fund network operate a zero-tolerance approach to:
- abusive language
- bullying
- harassment
We will reject your application if we observe any of this behaviour.
Fraud
The application system monitors submitted applications for signs of fraud.
We will share the details of any attempt to make fraudulent applications, or receive grant funding fraudulently, with West Midlands Police.
Receiving the grant
Receiving payments from this fund will not impact any other benefits you receive, or are entitled to.
We make grant payments directly into a bank account in the applicant's name.
If you do not have a bank account, you can learn more about opening a basic bank account.
