Eligibility and applications

When it starts

Applications will be accepted from 23 June 2025, and we will continue to accept applications until 31 March 2026, or until all funding has been exhausted if this is sooner. We may temporarily pause new submissions to the online enquiry form during this period if the waiting list becomes too full. Please visit this page for regular updates.

Eligibility

  • You must be a Birmingham resident
  • You must be able to demonstrate that your household is experiencing financial hardship - in particular covering food and energy costs
  • Your household must not have received a £200 grant payment in the last 12 months

As part of your grant application we may ask you to provide:

  • proof of address
  • proof of means-tested benefits (if you receive them)

Receiving payments from this fund will not impact any other benefits you receive, or are entitled to.

How to apply

You must not submit more than one enquiry form. If you submit multiple enquiry forms, all of your enquiries will be rejected and you will not be called back.

To apply, potential applicants will be required to complete the enquiry form, located on the website below, answering questions aimed at determining your suitability for a grant payment. All applicants will be contacted via email on the outcome of their enquiry and next steps.

To follow up on your enquiry, call 0121 634 7100. However, using the online form will get you a faster response, so we strongly recommend it if possible.

To apply, complete the Hardship Grant Community Fund - Expression of Interest form
