Get involved with our Customer Service Strategy

If you're an individual

We want to deliver great customer services, made with you in mind.

We also want to talk to you about how we can create a better experience for people using our services.

Residents' views and experiences are important to us. We are looking for residents to help shape our services by being involved in user research sessions. Can you give up an hour of your time to share your thoughts? Your insight will help shape services that matter most to you. We want to hear your ideas, suggestions and feedback. Come and get involved and help make a difference!

Residents have been involved and influenced several services including:

  • testing the new voice automation and chatbot assistant for services including planning, highways, waste and environmental health
  • child licensing chaperone journey where they have been involved in co-designing a new chaperone handbook
  • helping shape and test a new housing satisfaction survey for anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches

"I fed-back ideas on how to tweak and amend the questions...I was really pleased with the fact that my ideas were taken on board…I think all in all it was a really positive thing"

"I have to say that this all feels so much better and more supportive – the workshop session, this draft, your correspondence… I think it is so important to start off new chaperones properly, making them feel empowered and positive.”

If you're an organisation or community group

Help us to create a city where all organisations work together for the benefit of everyone.

We want to work with:

  • other public sector organisations
  • our suppliers
  • businesses
  • community groups

Share your experiences of using our services, so the changes we make lead to real improvements in how you use them.

We have lots of exciting opportunities for you to get involved with this work. We have recently connected with CASBA an organisation who support people with Learning disabilities and Birmingham and Black Country Sight Loss Council. We held usability testing and focus groups to understand how voice automation and the chatbot assistant works for residents with specific needs. Significant changes were made to the tools based on their feedback, they really did help shape and improve these tools for everyone!

“Our SL Council members have been testing and providing feedback on BCC upcoming chatbot feature ahead of its release this summer. Some interesting conversations were had, and solutions shared on how to improve its accessibility”

Louise Connop

“The group had a brilliant time. We were well listened to, and our voices were heard”

Jennifer – CASBA
