Access to recent inquest files

For inquests within the last 75 years, researchers will need to contact the coroner’s office and request the file. 

Requests should be made in writing or by email, and must include:

  • Name of deceased
  • Exact date of death
  • Date of inquest

This information is all on the death certificate - you can order a copy of a death certificate from our Register Office.
