How to use the Wolfson Centre for archival research
The Wolfson Centre is open to the public free of charge on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 11am to 3pm. It is essential that you book an appointment and order material online via our online booking system two weeks in advance of your visit. Appointments are released two weeks in advance each Monday at 11am and each appointment is for one person only on a first come, first served basis. Please don't travel if you have not been able to book an appointment as you will not be allowed to enter the building.
Also, please note that we may not be able to give you direct access to some items, for example because they are too fragile or for data protection reasons.
You can search our online catalogue, check out our websites Connecting Histories and Birmingham Images or our blog, the Iron Room to find out more about the collections and identify material you'd like to see. Please note that not all listings of records are available online, so if you can’t find what you need please send an enquiry to the address at the bottom of the page.
On arrival, please sign the visitors’ book and deposit coats and bags into a free locker.
We require all visitors to the Wolfson Area to bring identification with them.
