Recently funded cultural programmes
During 2023 we supported over 30 different projects taking place across 25 wards, engaging 1000s of Birmingham residents as participants, leaders, volunteers, and audiences.
These projects were funded through the following cultural programmes.
Culture on Our Doorstep
Culture on Our Doorstep projects deliver arts activities in local neighbourhoods to create:
- better sense of place
- local identity
- better quality of life
- health and wellbeing
Next Generation
Next Generation projects deliver arts activities for children and young people who do not usually take part in arts activities outside education. These projects are designed to:
- engage their imagination and interest
- inspire children and young people to be bold and ambitious
Cultural Leadership
Cultural Leadership projects provide leadership development opportunities to better represent Birmingham’s diverse population in our arts sector.
Birmingham 2022 Creative City Legacy
Following on from the success of the Birmingham 2022 Festival Creative City Grants Programme, Creative City Legacy projects built on the collaborations formed between arts organisations or groups and communities to continue to co-create exciting artworks.
