Young active travel - Trust and Grants

A Charitable Trust has been established to attract sponsorship and other voluntary giving to invest in supporting sustainable travel to school and children’s road safety.

The aims of the Trust are;

“to preserve and protect public health, particularly the health of school-children in Birmingham by i) supporting initiatives which raise awareness about road safety, health, exercise and fitness; and ii) changing behaviours towards travel to school”

Schools and constituted groups of parents located within the geographic boundary of Birmingham City Council can apply for grants of up to £1,000 per school to:

  • support the development and implementation of School Travel Plans
  • increase sustainable travel to school
  • improve children’s safety as they travel to and from school

Applications are considered each term. Deadline for application is Friday 27 October 2023.
