How to pay

You can pay your business rates bill:

  • by Direct Debit
  • online by credit or debit card
  • by standing order or bank transfer
  • by telephone
  • in person at a Post Office, PayPoint or Payzone

Pay by Direct Debit

You can set up or amend a Direct Debit online.

You will need to register for a BRUM account.

Pay online

You can pay your business rates online, either through your BRUM account or without signing in.

Pay through your BRUM account

You can pay by signing in to your BRUM account. If you’ve already registered for the business rates online service, you will see your online account details.

Make a payment by selecting ‘Make a payment’ under ‘Popular services’.

If you have not registered, follow the instructions to switch to paperless billing.

Pay without signing in

You can pay online without signing in.

You will need to enter your 10-digit business rates account reference number without hyphens. This number begins with ‘60’.

Pay by standing order or bank transfer

Use these account details:

  • sort code: 20-07-90
  • account number: 13545660

You will need to enter your 10-digit account reference number without hyphens. This number begins with ‘60’.

Pay by telephone

You can pay through our 24-hour automated payment line.

Phone 0121 464 2001 and select option 2.

Pay in person

You can pay at a Post Office, PayPoint or Payzone.

You will need to take your business rates bill so they can scan the barcode with your account details.

If you cannot pay your business rates

If you’re having difficulty paying, let us know as soon as you can by contacting the business rates team.

You can also check if you’re eligible for a reduction on your business rates.
