About our schools
We have an ambitious plan for improving our city, our Education and Schools Strategy and Improvement Plan, which will see our schools go from strength-to-strength. To support it, we want the best head teachers, teachers and support staff to work in our schools and be part of our children’s future.
We have:
- The highest proportion of teaching schools in the country.
- An ambition to build even better links with local universities and the Birmingham Education Partnership
- A young population; most of its citizens are younger than 30-years-old
- more than 75% of schools that achieve ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ grades in Ofsted inspections.
- Strong partnerships between schools, colleges, universities and other education providers in Birmingham and across the West Midlands.
- An employee help scheme, local authority training events and a career transition service for school-based staff (available to schools that subscribe to these services).
