Online certificate applications: payments and refunds

You can use our Register Office online application form to order copies of birth, death, marriage and civil partnership certificates using the following link. Certificates will be posted to you within 15 days from receipt of your application.

The cost of each certificate is £11.

You need to wait at least 20 days from the date of application before contacting us if your certificate has not arrived by post.

Which cards can I use to pay online?

You can pay Birmingham City Council online by debit or credit card. We accept Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Maestro and JCB.

Is it secure?

Your card details will be encrypted and stored on a secure server at WorldPay.

How does it work?

When you fill out the payment form, you will need to provide relevant information and contact details so we can get in touch if we need to.

After your have completed the application form you will be transferred to the secure WorldPay site where you can enter your card details securely. WorldPay will then approve the payment and tell us that your payment has been authorised. We will then search for the certificates you have requested.

Refund policy

We make every effort to ensure that all payments collected are correct. We have a Refunds Policy that protects your interests in the event of us collecting too much money from you.

Refunds will not be issued in the event that we do not hold your certificate or cannot find it based on the information supplied.
