Other help
Cosaraf's Hardship Grants
Cosaraf offers grants for families and individuals facing hardship.
You can only apply if you are a recognised social organisation, such as:
- charities
- housing associations
- schools
- social services acting on behalf of a family or individual in need
The grant helps with:
- household items such as white goods and sometimes furniture
- living expenses, such as utilities and food
- work and education expenses, such as clothes, uniforms and laptops
- rent and council tax arrears when there is a risk of homelessness
- immigration costs
You must be able to show that you are taking advantage of all support offered by local services.

Karis Baby Bank
Karis Baby Bank offers items such as cots, pushchairs, clothes and nappies for newborns and infants.
To access these items, you must be referred by a social worker, support worker or health professional.

Citizens Advice Birmingham
Citizens Advice Birmingham has specialist debt advisers that can help you resolve your debt problems.
The Sweet Project
The Sweet Project work with children, families, and vulnerable adults to provide:
- protection
- safeguarding
- empowerment
- problem-solving skills
- support
They also offer advice on debt management, information sharing, and crisis intervention.
Severn Trent Trust Fund
Apply for The Big Difference Scheme that provides financial support for their water bills for eligible people on low incomes.
Sure Start Maternity Grant
Get a one-off payment towards the costs of having a baby with the Sure Start Maternity Grant.
