There is plenty of useful information on the Long Trail website about how to research an ancestor in the army or find out about a specific battalion or a battle.

The National Archives has plenty of useful advice on researching military records in their holdings and elsewhere and it has a dedicated portal from where you can access all of their online collections and a variety of blogs and podcasts relating to the First World War.

Our website contains a gallery of resources pertaining to the First World War stored in the building.

The Imperial War Museum website provides access to the Lives of the First World War digital memorial and individuals can upload their own materials, stories and artefacts.
