Handling of map and topographical material
For protection, much of this type of material is stored in flat polyester sleeves. Many maps will be available for photocopying, some only by staff but all with great care as they are often much larger than the surface of the photocopier itself. When photocopying is not allowed, this will be clearly marked on the polyester sleeve.
Alternatively, researchers may wish to bring a camera along to make copies of maps. This option is free of charge for materials served in the Heritage Research Area which are no longer subject to copyright.
