How will this affect me

The works started in June 2022 and are due to be completed in December 2026. The viaduct will remain open during the works, to minimise disruption. To enable this, VolkerFitzpatrick will be using high level access platforms spanning from pier to pier.

The structure spans significant infrastructure, including live electrified rail lines, the River Tame, main roads and local businesses. VolkerFitzpatrick will be taking steps to maximise safety on site, to engage with the local community and to minimise any environmental impact from the works.

There are planned road and lane closures with the use of traffic lights where necessary at different points in the project along Aston Hall Road and Electric Avenue. However, we will try to minimise disruption and endeavour to give advanced warnings which will be posted on the latest updates section of this webpage.
