Deaths while the subject of DoLS

If the deceased was the subject of a DoLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard Order) at the time of their death, the coroner only needs to be notified if:

  • the cause of death is unknown, or
  • the cause of death is unnatural, or
  • there were concerns on the treatment of the deceased prior to death.
