Release of deceased

We understand the importance of releasing the deceased as soon as possible. The average time for release of a body in a straight forward case where no post mortem is needed is between 1 and 2 days. The average time for release when a post mortem is needed is between 3 and 4 days.

These time periods can be much longer when the service has an increase in referrals and due to the national lack of pathologists.
