Charge Certificate
A Charge Certificate is a letter sent to the registered keeper of a vehicle when a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) has not been paid and no successful challenge has been made.
This letter is sent after the time allowed for responding to the PCN has passed.
Once a Charge Certificate is issued, you cannot challenge the original PCN.
What you can do
After receiving a Charge Certificate, you can:
- pay the PCN
- wait for the Order of Recovery to be sent, which will explain your next options
