Accounts: Financial Year 2015 to 2016

The Council's Draft Statement of Accounts including Group Accounts, was signed by the Strategic Director - Finance & Legal on 22 June 2016 and passed to Grant Thornton for external audit.

The final version of the Accounts has been amended for matters arising during the audit and included in the Auditor's Annual Findings Report 2015 to 2016. The Final Statement of Accounts was signed by the Strategic Director – Finance & Legal and the Chair of Audit Committee on 29 September 2016.

Notice of Conclusion of Audit

In accordance with the requirements of Regulation 16 of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, notice is given that the audit of the financial accounts for Birmingham City Council for the financial year ended 31 March 2016 has been concluded.

The rights conferred on local government electors by Section 25 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 are to inspect and make copies of:

  1. the statement of accounts;
  2. the auditor’s certificate of completion;
  3. the auditor’s opinion on the statement of accounts.

Should an elector require copies of any of the statements outlined above, this may be supplied on payment of a reasonable sum for each copy.

The audited statement of accounts and reports from the auditor are available for inspection by any local government elector for any area to which the accounts relate at 10 Woodcock Street, Aston, Birmingham, B7 4BG, from 9am to 4pm on working days, on application to Annette Rowe, Finance Manager, Corporate Resources Directorate, Finance (WS), PO Box 16306, Birmingham, B2 2XR (telephone 0121 303 3313 or email Annette.Rowe@birmingham.gov.uk).
