“We were delighted with the 19 employees we recruited from the Employment Access Team’s first Manufacturing Route Way training programme. The programme introduced unemployed candidates to modern manufacturing techniques, helping them adapt quickly to the Cadbury factory processes.

The assessments part of the programme helped us to easily see how each trainee had achieved high standards of reliability, including excellent attendance and punctuality, physical fitness to work on a production line and an ability to follow standard operating procedures.

Many of the people we took on from the training programme worked on our Easter Egg production-line, where they helped set new production records. And as soon as we learnt of the second Route Way programme, we jumped to it and recruited another 25 people from it.
