Amey

“Amey and Birmingham City Council’s Employment Access Team are working in partnership to engage local workless people and support them into training and job opportunities linked to the Birmingham Highways Maintenance and Management Service. The partnership is committed to this objective, and is using this route as its main focus for recruitment into the Birmingham project.

As part of the recruitment process, local unemployed people attend pre-employment training where they undertake a period of customised training leading to qualifications such as the New Roads and Streetworks Act, which is an essential qualification for Streetlighting Operatives.

The customised training element is an essential part of the process and ensures that new recruits join us with the required skills and qualifications. The calibre of candidates put forward has been exceptional and Amey look forward to a continuing partnership with the Employment Access Team.” Project Director, Amey
