Building Birmingham Academy

Overview

The Building Birmingham Academy (BBA) works in partnership with local businesses, further and higher education providers and other key stakeholders to inspire, develop and train people to become highly skilled built environment professionals. The academy aims to support the delivery of the city’s growth agenda and ensure that built environment professionals are representative of the city they are transforming.

The academy brings together support, training and employment initiatives across the service areas of Birmingham City Council working in the built environment providing opportunities to local people wishing to become qualified built environment professionals.

The Building Birmingham Academy is made up of a number of programmes:

  • Building Birmingham Scholarship -  currently not running
  • Apprenticeship Programme
  • Graduate Development Officer Programme
  • Continual Professional Development Programme
  • Mentoring Programme
  • Internship Programme
  • Work Experience
