Aims of the board
The Birmingham Autism and ADHD Partnership Board (BAAPB) aims to:
- allow autistic people and people who have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to reach their full potential and play a full role in society
- allow autistic people and people who have ADHD to have the skills and confidence needed to keep themselves safe and well
- reduce the gap in life expectancy between autistic people and people who have ADHD and the general population
- ensure lived experience voices are heard through collaboration with experts by experience (people with lived experience of autism and ADHD)
The current priorities of the BAAPB are:
- acceptance in society
- employment
- education
- health and care inequalities
- building the right support in the community
- criminal justice systems
