Aims of the board

The Birmingham Autism and ADHD Partnership Board (BAAPB) aims to:

  • allow autistic people and people who have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to reach their full potential and play a full role in society
  • allow autistic people and people who have ADHD to have the skills and confidence needed to keep themselves safe and well
  • reduce the gap in life expectancy between autistic people and people who have ADHD and the general population
  • ensure lived experience voices are heard through collaboration with experts by experience (people with lived experience of autism and ADHD)

The current priorities of the BAAPB are:

  • acceptance in society
  • employment
  • education
  • health and care inequalities
  • building the right support in the community
  • criminal justice systems
