Parking PCN left on your vehicle
A parking PCN left on your vehicle or handed to you directly, also known as a Direct Issue Parking Penalty Charge Notice (PCN), is a penalty issued for a parking violation and delivered at the time the offence takes place.
After receiving a Direct parking (PCN), you have 28 days to:
- pay the PCN, a 50% discount applies if paid within 14 days
- challenge the PCN, you can dispute the PCN by submitting an informal challenge if you think there is an error with the penalty
Challenge outcomes
If your challenge is successful, the PCN will be cancelled.
Your challenge is rejected
If your challenge is rejected, you can:
- pay the Penalty charge (if your appeal was submitted during the discount period, you will have another chance to pay a reduced charge)
- wait for the Notice to Owner to be sent to the vehicle's registered keeper, so you can make a formal appeal
