The site can be accessed from Baldwin’s Lane and Slade Lane in Hall Green.
- About the park

Scribers Lane is a popular area of the Shire Country Park.
It runs alongside the River Cole from Scribers Lane near Yardley Wood and Hall Green, passing southwards through Slade Lane and ending on the Birmingham/Solihull border at some stepping stones.
The public open space, which includes woodland and wetland, is situated to the south of Trittiford Mill Park.

- Parts of Scribers Lane have been designated as Sites of Importance to Nature Conservation (SINC) and Sites of Local Importance to Nature Conservation (SLINC) for its range of wetland habitats
- Shire Country Park is a local nature reserve lying south of Birmingham City Centre. An area of outstanding natural beauty and historical interest, it follows the River Cole Valley as a green ribbon for four miles. The site features two fords, on Scribers Lane and Slade Lane
- Other features

- A path runs along one side of the site between the disused mill race and the River Cole. There are various other informal paths
- Scribers Lane is a diverse site with wet flushes and ditches as well as a wetland scrape
- The River Cole runs through the Shire Country Park and is rich in fish and invertebrate life, providing a good food supply for exploring otters, which have been seen on the Blythe nearby. Artificial holts have been constructed in the river banks
- Trees supporting the plentiful wildlife include willows, alders and mature oaks. A wide range of wild flowers are abundant and in spring, lesser celandine, wild garlic, wood anemone and bluebells flourish.
- Scribers Lane is home to a variety of wildlife, including:

- foxes
- water voles
- bats
- Birdlife includes:
- kingfishers
- sparrowhawks
- 3 British species of woodpecker
- a variety of warblers in the summer
- redwings and fieldfares in the winter months

An active Friends group interested in the land alongside the River Cole between Yardley Wood and Tyseley.
