Lighting up the library for Loneliness Awareness Week 2026
Monday 15 June 2026
After sunset on Monday 15 June, the exterior façade of the Library of Birmingham will be lit up orange to mark Loneliness Awareness Week 2026.
Hosted by the Marmalade Trust, Loneliness Awareness Week is the world's largest campaign to:
- inspire conversations about loneliness
- promote connection activities happening across the world
By talking about loneliness, we can reduce the stigma surrounding this natural human emotion. By hosting a connection activity we can create a sense of belonging and reduce loneliness in our communities.
