Lighting up the library for World Mental Health Day 2025
Friday 10 October 2025
After sunset on Friday 10 October, the exterior façade of the Library of Birmingham will be lit up green to support World Mental Health Day 2025.
The aim of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and increase efforts in support of mental health. The day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.
10 October is World Mental Health Day, but mental health is important every day.
Mental health is more than a small part of our lives. It is every moment of every day including:
- a hard day’s work and a catch-up with friends
- when you become a parent and the day you lose someone you love
- the times you reach out for support
- the years you spend on a waiting list
- the fight for a mental health system that works and hospitals that are safe
Mental health matters on the days when everything happens and the days when nothing happens. When life is busy and unpredictable and when it is quiet and ordinary too.
Mind is one of the UK’s most prominent mental health charities providing information and support.
