Lighting up the library for Baby Loss Awareness Week 2025
Wednesday 15 October 2025
After sunset on Wednesday 15 October, the exterior façade of the Library of Birmingham will be lit up blue and pink to support Baby Loss Awareness Week 2025.
This is the 22nd year of this week for everyone in the baby loss community and beyond to come together to remember and commemorate their much-loved and missed babies.
The Baby Loss Awareness Week website includes details about this year’s events which aim to raise awareness of the:
- impact of pregnancy and baby loss
- importance that bereavement support plays in the ongoing bereavement journey
- vital work that is needed to improve pregnancy outcomes and to save babies’ lives
Parents and families tell how important it is that they each find a way to remember their baby in a way that suits them. There is no right or wrong way, and it can change as the years pass too.
Some may:
- join with others at special services organised by their local hospital or a local support organisation
- find solace in events organised by their faith community
- remember alone in a way unique to them
The lighting up of the library is supported by the Lily Mae Foundation, which can provide information and support.
