Lighting up the library for Armed Forces Day 2025

After sunset on Saturday 28 June 2025, the exterior façade on the Library of Birmingham will be lit up red, white and blue in honour of Armed Forces Day 2025.
This year marks the 80th anniversaries of Victory in Europe (VE) and Victory over Japan (VJ).
Armed Forces Day is held on the last Saturday of June. It celebrates the armed forces community, including:
- people currently serving
- service families
- veterans
- reservists
- cadets
The week leading up to Armed Forces Day starts on Monday 23 June. It includes Reserves Day on Wednesday 25 June, which recognises the work of reservists.
The UK armed forces help protect the country, support peace, and respond to emergencies around the world.
