After sunset on Saturday 21 September 2024, the exterior façade of the Library of Birmingham will be lit up purple in support of World Alzheimer’s Day.

The theme for 2024 is "Time to act on dementia, Time to act on Alzheimer's".

Throughout September, the council will be hosting various events, activities, and initiatives to mark World Alzheimer's month.

The key aims of this year’s campaign are to raise awareness and challenge stigma surrounding Alzheimer's and dementia.
