Making an Application Online
The Planning Portal is a national website that provides advice on various aspects of the planning process. You can use the Planning Portal to submit online applications to Birmingham City Council and to download hard copies of the form. The online application process may be easier than the paper form, as it helps prevent you from submitting an invalid application.
Application forms can be completed, plans, drawings and supporting documents can be attached and the fee can also be paid using a debit or credit card online.
You can contact the Planning Portal for help and assistance with applying online.
Building Work: Will I need anything else?
Don't forget you may need Building Regulations approval or other types of permission. You can find out if you need anything else here.
Ordnance Survey Plan
You are required to provide a location plan showing the application site at a scale of 1:1250. This is usually provided on an Ordnance Survey Plan, these can be purchased though the Planning Portals Buy a Plan service or through our local suppliers.
