Constituencies and Wards
Ten Constituency Committees have been established by the Council and the relevant Ward Members have been appointed to serve on the same.
Ward Committees
The Councillors who respresent the Ward are the Members of the Ward Committee. The Member of Parliament relating to each Ward should also be invited to each meeting of the Ward Committee as an observer with the right to speak. There will be no Co-opted Members of Ward Committees. There are no Ward Committees for the 3 Wards in the Yardley District.
Parliamentary Constituencies
For the purposes of Parliamentary elections, Birmingham is divided into ten parliamentary constituencies, each of which elects one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons.
Each parliamentary constituency is sub-divided in to four wards (there are 40 in all) and each ward elects three members (or councillors) of the City Council.
European Parliament
Birmingham is part of the West Midlands Euro Constituency, which elects six Members of the European Parliament (MEPs)
