Roles in our SENAR team

If you are passionate about making a difference in children's services and want a rewarding career, we encourage you to apply for a role with our SENAR (Special Educational Needs Assessment and Review) team.

SENAR carries out mandatory assessments for children and young people who require SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) services.

To ensure every child's educational needs are met, the team identifies and addresses challenges around:

  • mental health
  • physical health
  • behaviour
  • learning

Our SENAR team also:

  • provides impartial information, advice and support
  • offers business intelligence, data dashboards and wider SEND reporting
  • coordinates annual transition processes for those with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) throughout the year
  • agrees on individual placements in special schools and resource bases (at mainstream schools)
