Birmingham Children's Trust

Will the services for Birmingham Children’s Trust be affected?

It will be inevitable that some services will need to be changed as a result of the savings needed to be made, and this process allows us to continue making improvements to provide efficient services.

The range of savings include staff, reductions in care cost and efficiency savings.

We will do all we can to minimise the impact during this difficult time and continue to prioritise the services for the most vulnerable residents in the city.

Will funding continue for Birmingham Children’s Trust?

Yes. The city council is committed to its 10-year contract for Birmingham Children’s Trust to deliver its children’s social care services and meet its statutory duties for children and families.

The contract sum for the Trust is renegotiated on an annual basis and there is a significant reduction in funding for 2024 to 2025.

Will staff at Birmingham Children’s Trust be affected?

This is a challenging time for the council and the Trust so we will look to make savings across various areas.

Our annual contract sum will be reduced to deliver a range of savings which will include staff savings, reductions in care costs and efficiency savings.

Further details will be released in due course and all staff will be communicated with via appropriate channels with their line managers.
