Support and training for our Shared Lives carers
- We will offer you training, support and guidance about how to support people in different situations
- You’ll have a dedicated scheme worker to talk through anything you’re not sure about
- We will pay you a fee;
- For long term placements, you’ll also get 21 night's respite each year
You don’t need any qualifications, though any experience in voluntary or professional roles, or caring for family members will help.
We’re proud that our regulators, the Care Quality Commission, continue to rate Shared Lives care as the safest and best quality of all social care support options each year.
As well as your scheme worker’s support, there are regular Shared Lives carers’ groups, we support each other and often meet up socially around the city. If you join Shared Lives Plus, you’ll have a whole network of 11,000 people to lean on too.
