Ladywood Estate Regeneration Scheme

The Ladywood Estate Regeneration Scheme is Birmingham's most significant housing regeneration and redevelopment opportunity for a generation.

Over the next 20 years, the regeneration scheme will bring £2.2billion pounds to Ladywood.

This investment aims to regenerate the area by bringing:

  • more affordable homes
  • fully refitted and refurbished tower blocks
  • more open spaces, including play areas and parks
  • new community facilities such as schools, healthcare facilities, and community spaces
  • better connected transport links
  • improved walking and cycling routes
  • over 1,000 apprentices and 10,000 full-time equivalent jobs over the lifetime of the project
  • funding for community projects

The regeneration of Ladywood is at a very early stage. No decisions on the shape of the regeneration have been made.

Planning documents are expected to be submitted in 2025. Before that happens, Ladywood citizens will be involved in extensive consultation and engagement to help shape Ladywood's future.

The project will affect residents and businesses in different ways. Through discussion, the aim is to provide solutions for everyone.

The council is committed to ensuring that as many people as possible who want to remain in the area can do so.
