Expression of Interest can be put forward by an authorised person who should contact us by email with the following details:

  • Full name and position
  • Name and full address of the place of worship
  • Contact details to include phone number
  • Secure the item from the FREE resources that is listed below

On receipt, an officer from Birmingham City Council will make contact and offer a copy of the toolbox and advice on your COVID-19 safety preparation plan.

The toolbox includes vital information to help meet COVID-19 control measures in keeping both officiating officers and the congregation safe.

Not only is it good practice but also many insurers and COVID-19 enforcement agencies will require a risk assessment, which is included within the toolbox to be carried out for every building and site open to the public.

Supportive visit

An officer from Birmingham City Council will be on hand to provide support, advice and will arrange a site visit to assess the COVID-19 control measures and offer any additional guidance.

Resources available

As a thank you for all the efforts and a way of supporting places of worship reoccupy their buildings safely, we have the following items available free of charge. The quantities are limited, so make your selection known when applying.

The Birmingham Multi-Faith group will allocate the resources and notify each approved Birmingham COVID-19 secure Places of Worship recipient with details of the item requested with the collection instructions.

All we ask, is that we capture a photo of you collecting your resources along with a short statement.

Select the resources that will help you to reoccupy your place of worship safely. Be advised that some items are limited to one per place of worship.

COVID-19 Safety Charter

The charter demonstrates that places of worship have carried out Health and Safety control measures and that they are COVID-19 safer.

Also to acknowledge and confirm good practice that is already in place.

The Charter Certificate will be posted and can be displayed to demonstrate the place of worship is an approved COVID-19 secure setting by the Birmingham City Council.
