Vaccine uptake by Ward

Vaccine uptake (1st dose) is below 60% in the following wards:

  • Newtown
  • Holyhead
  • Nechells
  • Soho and Jewellery Quarter
  • Ladywood
  • Bordesley and Highgate
  • Birchfield

  • Balsall Heath West
  • Sparkbrook and Balsall Heath East
  • North Edgbaston
  • Aston
  • Heartlands
  • Sparkhill

This list above highlights the wards with less than 60% uptake. Although wards with less than 60% uptake of the first dose are still concentrated in the centre of Birmingham, the wards at that level (less than 60% uptake) appear to be reducing.

Bournbrook and Selly Park and Edgbaston achieved 60% uptake in early May.

Vaccine uptake (2nd dose) is below 60% in the following wards:

  • Newtown
  • Holyhead
  • Nechells
  • Alum Rock
  • Soho and Jewellery Quarter
  • Bordesley and Highgate
  • Birchfield
  • Bordesley Green
  • Ward End
  • Handsworth
  • Sparkbrook and Balsall Heath East
  • Ladywood
  • Aston
  • Balsall Heath West
  • Heartlands
  • North Edgbaston
  • Sparkhill
  • Small Heath
  • Lozells
  • Gravelly Hill
  • Stockland Green
  • Tyseley and Hay Mills
  • Edgbaston
  • Bournbrook and Selly Park

The list above highlights the wards with less than 60% uptake.

As with 1st dose, areas with less than 60% uptake of the 2nd dose still appear to be concentrated in the centre of Birmingham.

Yardley West and Stechford achieved 60% in mid-April.

Vaccine uptake (booster dose) was below 60% in the majority of wards across the city

With the exception of the northern/more affluent areas, less than 60% booster uptake is widespread in other parts of Birmingham. Uptake in Bournville and Cotteridge (63.1%) and Northfield (65.2%) is higher than its surrounding areas in the south, with less than 60% uptake.
