What can you do
Check local media before you travel - TV, radio, internet, etc. Where possible, observe advice on travel during extreme weather, such as flooding or wintry conditions.
Carry an emergency kit in your car with the following basic items:
- first aid kit
- blanket
- torch
- bottled water
- food
