Appeal against a school/college travel support decision
If you're not happy with the home to school/college travel support we've offered your child, or we’ve refused your application, you have a right to appeal.
You can also appeal if you don’t qualify for help under the rules, but may be experiencing severe hardship with additional problems, e.g. medical problems.
The appeals take place in two stages:
- Stage one: A children’s service manager will review your appeal within 5 working days of receiving it. They’ll make a decision within 10 days.
- Stage two: If you’re unhappy with the decision from stage one you’ll need to let us know within 15 working days that you'd like to go to the next stage of the appeals process. Stage two appeals are considered by members of the Education Awards (Review) Sub-Committee and a decision will be made within 30 working days.
During the appeals stages, we won’t provide help with travel or make changes to existing support.
To appeal you must complete and return an appeal form within 15 days of us contacting you.
