Birmingham Education Resilience Curriculum Group

Curriculum group meetings are an initiative set up by the Education resilience team, working in partnership with our schools in Birmingham.

The aim is to develop sustainable opportunities for networking and sharing good practice within the classroom and to address the curriculum challenges identified through the Section 175 Safeguarding Self Assessment.

These themed groups enable teachers to develop confidence in teaching, learning and assessment in the key elements of Keeping Children Safe in Education and enable key areas of safeguarding to be woven through curriculum resources.

The purpose of the curriculum groups is:

  • to offer a strategic link in a supportive capacity when working with schools and the safeguarding team.
  • to identify strengths and opportunities for curriculum development in schools and academies.
  • to represent the voice of education in the safeguarding sector.
  • to develop sound working partnerships to ensure there is ongoing support for schools.
