The Department for Education (DfE) has now finalised and published its 2021 update to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

KCSIE is the key statutory guidance that sets out what schools and colleges should be doing when carrying out their duties to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
KCSIE 2020 will remain in force until 1 September 2021 when the new KCSIE 2021 becomes effective.
In preparation for the September term, it is critical that you familiarise yourself with the updated guidance now.

To assist you with your In-Service Safeguarding Training, we have put together a PowerPoint presentation summarising the key provisions of the guidance. This presentation is a recap of the developments from 2019 to 2020. This guidance is still applicable and the key changes will come into effect from September 2021.
