Freight deliveries

Birmingham’s economy relies on the freight and logistics sector working efficiently and easily. The movement of goods and services makes sure shops are stocked, restaurants have fresh food to serve and offices and factories can operate effectively.

Despite its importance, delivery and servicing traffic also has less positive effects in Birmingham. Road traffic is the largest contributor to poor air quality. Vans and lorries also add to and get caught in congestion on our roads.

By managing deliveries to buildings more effectively, and reducing the number of journeys required, the efficiency of freight can be improved; cutting costs for both freight operators and the businesses they serve. There will also be a positive impact on the local environment, a reduction in congestion and improved road safety, making Birmingham a better place for everyone.
