What is The Lord Mayor’s Protocol?

The Lord Mayor is the ‘first citizen’ of the City of Birmingham. This means that the Lord Mayor takes priority over all other members and officers of the Council at all events.

It’s important that the holder of the post of Lord Mayor is treated with respect at all times. The Lord Mayor’s Protocol explains the procedure that should be followed in the City when the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress are attending public functions.
